This work belongs to “Alger”, Walid Tighiouart's first solo exhibition, shown at the Ahmed and Rabah Asselah Cultural Foundation in Algiers from 25 January to 22 February 2025: a tribute to his hometown, the Casbah, women in the haïk, chaâbi music and the sea.
Walid Tighiouart, known as TiG, is a self-taught Algerian painter born in Algiers in 1994. His paintings build Algeria's cities, villages and people out of geometric fragments, often triangles.
